Dog Friendly Dining Newquay

Newquay has more than its fair share of dog friendly dining options suited to all appetites and budgets.

Partridge has listed some of her favourites here.

Head to the popular Fore Street Café, where you will find Pizza Jockeys, a seasonal pop up, Wednesday to Saturday. With an ethos surrounding quality, seasonal produce, keeping everything as locally sourced as possible, the innovative kitchen team take their time to create ingredients and some of the most delicious dough we’ve ever tasted.

The Beach Hut is Watergate Bay’s long-standing dog-friendly beach hangout, whether you’re after a warming mug of hot chocolate after a cold water swim, a lazy brunch before a day at the beach or casual lunch or supper with friends.

The Bottle Newquay is a gorgeous little dog friendly wine bar and eatery located at the heart of this bustling seaside town. Perfect for an intimate date night or a social gathering with friends, your beloved pooch is welcome to join you!

The pawfect place for Fish & Chips, Rick Stein Fistral is located right on Fistral beach and dog friendly throughout. No reservations.

Superb café with even better views. Situated on the rocks at Fistral Beach. Perfect stop for coffee.

Located on Fistral Beach, this is the place for locally caught fish and shellfish straight from the harbour.

Street food market located on the beach by Newquay harbour. With your dog in two, take your pick from a range of vendors serving an array of food options.

If you’re after an energising smoothie or a slice of delicious homemade cake, head to Jam Jar Cafe in Crantock. One of our favourites.

Milk Café on Broad Street serves up great coffee, smoothies, cake and savory bagels. A great pitstop when exploring Newquay.

A Padstow institution. For those that love seafood, then this is the destination for you. With two locations, the restaurant on Duke Street is open from 1st Feb – 27th March they then switch to Trerethern Farm from 1st April – 1st October.

The restaurant is small and has two dog friendly tables, so smaller dogs are best.

Dog Friendly Beaches & Walks in & around Newquay

With perhaps the most famous of all Cornwall’s beaches – Fistral Beach, Newquay and the surrounding area have a great selection of dog friendly beaches to explore.

Here are some of Partridge’s favourites.

Fistral Beach

The focal point of Newquay, Firstal Beach is one of the UK most famous surfing beaches, playing host to Boardmasters each year.

Fistral Beach is dog friendly all year, with lots of dog friendly hotels and restaurants nearby .

Dog friendly all year.

Little Fistral

Only a 10-minute walk from Fistral is the much smaller and rockier Little Fistral. Accesible only at low tide, dogs are welcome all year round but be careful of the currents.

Dog friendly all year.

Lusty Glaze

Private owned but open to the public, Lusty Glaze is another beach that is dog friendly all year. Sheltered by the cliffs the beach also has a host of ammenities available.

Dog friendly all year.

Towan Beach

Towan beach is famous for the island located at the eastern end of the beach and connected to the main land via a suspension bridge. A perfect spot for familes, Towan beach is dog friendly all year but like Fistral, does get very busy.

Dog friendly all year.

Porth Beach

Porth beach is a 5-minute car ride from Newquay or around a 30 minute walk via the South West Coastal Path. There is a car park nearby and dog friendly pub. Porth beach has a dog ban between Easter and September.

Seasonal dog ban in place.

Watergate Bay

Another Canine Cornwall favourite. Watergate Bay beach is about a 10-15 minute drive from Newquay but definately worth a visit. Dog friendly all year round, at low tide there is around 2 miles of sand and clives to explore. Dog friendly dining is also well catered for at Watergate with The Beach Hut and Living Space (in the Watergate Bay Hotel) right on the beach.

Dog friendly all year.
