The Beach Hut – Watergate Bay

Introduction

Soak up an après-surf atmosphere with your pal at your side, and drink in the sea views at this relaxed beachside café that nails casual food, done well.

The Beach Hut is Watergate Bay’s long-standing dog-friendly beach hangout, whether you’re after a warming mug of hot chocolate after a cold water swim, a lazy brunch before a day at the beach or casual lunch or supper with friends. True to its roots, The Beach Hut has now re-opened with reinvigorated sustainable purpose and a 50% plant-based menu.

Dine with your dog

Dogs are allowed throughout the entire restaurant, with water bowls and treats provided.

On the menu

Expect a fusion of fresh and sustainable ingredients, influences and styles. The Beach Hut is particularly loved for its evolving menu – think flavoursome soup, salads, deep-filled sandwiches and delicious cakes at busier times like weekends; and small plates, salads, grilled meat and fish, and desserts ,Tuesday to Friday.

We recommend making a table reservation to save disappointment, as it is such a popular spot, especially on sunny days.

Where to walk

Head straight out of the door, and onto the expansive two-mile sands of Watergate Bay, with its tidal sands, your dog will love the space to run free and play in the surf.

Further afield, the north Cornish coast is peppered with sandy beaches and coves ready for exploring, making it a walkers delight. There are a number of additional dog-friendly beaches on the North Cornwall coastline, including; Mawgan Porth, Porthkidney Beach, Mother Ivey’s Bay and Prussia Cove beach.

What Partridge says

The Beach Hut is a personal favourite spot of mine, with views out across Watergate Bay, I can be rest assured that a walkies will be incorporated into our visit. Us four-legs are well looked after, with plenty of fuss, treats and water bowls to quench our thirst, post-exercise. My humans absolutely love this hangout, so I’ve been lucky enough to visit several times, and can guarantee we will be back – a winner all round!
