Lewinnick Lodge – Newquay

Introduction

Lewinnick Lodge

A boutique restaurant with rooms, Lewinnick Lodge sits on the edge of the clifftops on the beautiful Pentire Headland in north Cornwall, with 360-degree vistas across the Atlantic and the iconic Fistral beach – the perfect spot to take time out and relax with your canine pal at your side. With six stylish dog friendly bedrooms, a large dining room, dog friendly bar, lounge and a terrace with lots of outdoor seating, its’ the ideal base to enjoy the very best of the Cornish coast.

An excellent choice for dog owners, surrounded by myriad of scenic walking spots, and dog friendly beaches, with the South West Coast Path right on the doorstep. Dogs will be happy to discover a comfy bed, bowl and treats left in the rooms, as well as printouts of the best dog friendly walking routes provided at reception.

Where to walk

With the Pentire Headland and the South West Coast Path on the doorstep, your four-legged friend will be spoilt for choice with some of the most scenic walking routes in the county. Both Fistral and Crantock Beach are dog-friendly all year round, offering great spots nearby, to take your pal for a blast of fresh air. There’s also the Gannel Estaury, a tidal estuary separating Newquay and Crantock village, walk here for a glimpse of the town’s seafaring past or pick up the coast path, and walk all the way into the bustling hub of Newquay where you will find an array of dog friendly eateries.

Dine with your dog

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the bar and outdoor areas where you can enjoy oceanside dining, boasting panoramic sea vistas. Dishes celebrate the very best of local ingredients with a contemporary twist, with menus that evolve with the seasons, influenced by the surrounding land and sea – expect brasserie favourites, transformed into signature dishes, with a little added Cornish flair.

For those who wish to dine out, we love Rick Stein, Fistral for freshest fish and chips, overlooking Fistral Beach. Other favourites include Pizza Jockeys (currently operating out of their Falmouth base – returning to Newquay soon), where you can expect quality local produce – some of the best pizza we’ve had. The Bottle for delicious small plates and unique wines, and further afield, just around the headland, there’s The Beach Hut, serving casual seasonal plates, including great breakfasts and seafood and Watergate Bay’s Living Space, serving a range of light bites all day. For a superb brunch head to Fore Street Café, and for drinks, The Sink Inn.

Doggie room rate

There is an extra charge of £20 per night for your canine pal to stay too.

What Partridge says

Lewinnick Lodge is a pawsome base to explore one of my favourite areas of Cornwall. I loved the spacious bedroom with incredible sea views, where I particularly enjoyed dolphin and seal spotting from the large floor-to-ceiling windows. Great walkies with plenty of sniffs, right on the headland, and it was such fun to run and play in the expansive sands of Fistral beach.
