Is there anything better than that well earned first sip of beer after a day out with the dog exploring Cornwall’s amazing beaches, attractions or coastal paths?
We don’t think so, and alongside the numeruous dog friendly pubs and bars scattered across Cornwall, there is also a growing number of dog friendly breweries that not only serve great and innovative beer, but food as well.
Partridge has sniffed out some of her favourites to help you select where your next tipple may come from.
Verdant Brewing Co are a firm favourite of Greig, co-founder, who will always look for an excuse to visit when in the area.
Set-up in 2014, Verdant are an indepentant brewing company that focus on hoppy beers and IPAs.
Not only are their beers superb (Lightbulb & Headband being flagship offerings) but the names given to each beer creation is enough to make you want to try them… Fruit Car Sight Exhibition / Whale Sharks / Examine Our Allocations and Neal Gets Things Done, to name a few.
The dog friendly taproom is located at their Penryn headquarters where you can pick up fresh cans, merchandise or sit-in and enjoy some beers and pizza.
They have also recently open The Seafood Bar in Falmouth that specialises in small plates and 8 lines of Verdant beers.
Further afield, but still in Cornwall, they have just taken over for the summer season, Schooners, in St Agnes – A dream location right next to the beach. Or if you are in Newquay, The Sink Inn is serving Verdant on draft.
Bluntrock Brewery operates out of converted shipping containers just outside of Rock in North Cornwall.
Brewing began in 2021 and all beers are designed and sold on site. The taproom serves 8 lines of fresh brews, created in the nanobrewery only meters away.
If fresh, small-batch beers are for you, the Bluntrock is definitely worth a visit. They are very dog friendly and regularly put on music and street food events as well.
Lacuna is another brewery located in Penryn and has sustainability at its heart.
The ethos of their beer is delicious and sustainable, and we can vouch for that! Lacuna have three core offerings: Pale Ale, IPA and Lager.
The Penryn taproom is open every Saturday from 2-8pm and dogs are most welcome.
Located at Trecaunance Cove, St Agnes and joined with The Driftwood Spars pub, the brewery produces individual, small-batch beer since 2020.
The shop and brewery are both dog friendly and you can combine your visit with either a stay or bite to eat at The Driftwood Spars pub which service the freshest beers direct from the brewery.
Another favourite, Harbour Brewing are Cornish through and through and pay homage to that through their beers.
Although they don’t have a taproom on site (you can buy there pawsome beers here), they do own the Atlantic Bar & Kitchen in Polzeath and the St Tudy inn where you can sample Harbour’s beers and enjoy great food at the same time.
St Austell Brewery, famous for its flagship beer – Tribute – has a number of dog friendly pubs – 27 pubs with rooms across Devon and Cornwall that have dog friendly accommodation. They even have their own beer for pups – Proper Dog!

Founded in 2020, St Ives Brewery have been creating craft beer that looks to capture the essence of the Cornish Coast and St Ives.
Dogs are welcome at both their venues – The micro tap room and shop is located in the heart of St Ives and their newly renovated brewery taproom can be found in Hayle. The Brewery taproom is open Thursday – Sundays.
Padstow Brewing Co is an award winning micro brewery located in Canine Cornwall favourite – Padstow.
A visit to Padstow is not complete without sampling their legendary tasting flights at 8 Duke Street. Food is also served here and well behaved dogs are very welcome.
If only a drink is on the menu, then head to the original Tasting Rooms on Broad Street where you can sit outside and enjoy a pint of Padstow.
Another brewery in St Agnes, Pipeline Brewing Co creates small batch beers ranging from pales ales, IPAs, DIPAs, stouts and sours. New brews are realsed every fortnight.
The dog friendly taproom is open every Friday and Saturday – 4-11pm and is located at the St Agnes MMI.
Pizzas are also served from 7-8pm.
Black Flag Brewery is an independent brewery located in Perranporth.
The taproom is located just 5 minutes from the beach and centre of Perranporth and welcomes all dogs. Open from Friday to Sunday, there are 8 lines available with Pizza served on Fridays and Saturdays.
