Introduction

Pizza Jockeys – Falmouth

pizza-jockeys-logo

Head to the popular Market Strand, where you will find Pizza Jockeys – an independent dog-friendly pizza hangout with a retro flavour – located just opposite the pier, close to Star & Garter and a host of independent businesses, open Fridays and Saturdays during the winter season and around the clock throughout the summer months.

With an ethos surrounding quality, seasonal produce, keeping everything as locally sourced as possible, the innovative kitchen team take their time to create ingredients and some of the most delicious dough we’ve ever tasted. The café has 31 covers and is 100% dog friendly; your four-legged friend will be welcomed with open arms, treats and a water bowl, as well as a blanket to snuggle up on. An eco-conscious spot, everything used is recyclable, with vegan ink and printing materials. Sink into homely comfort with your canine pal at your side, and enjoy chilled vibes with eclectic music, an open kitchen and cosiest seating. Décor is a fusion pop-culture meets 90’s grunge, lots of local art and signwriters and a public graffiti wall for live reviews of your evening!

A throwback pizza place, honouring the older generation as well as the thirty/forty-somethings and younger students too.

Dine with your dog

Dogs are welcome throughout and treats are available, of course!

On the menu

The talented kitchen team serve scrape-the-plate-clean tasty pizzas and garlic breads with some intriguing and unexpected toppings. Diners can enjoy watching the process from an open kitchen where delicious pizzas are baked in a huge bright yellow oven; from the popular vegetarian Hey Zhoug, with grilled aubergine, pine nuts, tahini and pomegranate molasses to the Pineapple Express – with smoked ham hock and barbecued pineapple – and the Mrs.Potatohead with Pancetta, roasted potatoes and wild garlic – there’s a topping for all tastebuds.

Don’t deny yourself the Cheesy Marmite Bread – an insane fusion of mozzarella, marmite, confit garlic, honey and rosemary oil, paired with the honey ranch dip – dill, garlic, honey and soured cream – the perfect combo that will leave you wanting more!

Where to walk

In terms of walking spots, Pizza Jockeys is brilliantly positioned – Falmouth offers a host of great beaches all of which are worth a visit – Gyllynvase, Swanpool, Castle Beach, Sunny Cove and Maenporth Beach are some of our favourites, but just be sure to check for seasonal bans which are in place between 15th May and 30th September – 10am-6pm.

Your four-legged friend will also love exploring the South West Coast Path – we love the jaunt from Falmouth to Maenporth, starting with a half-hour walk to Swanpool Beach before joining the coast path, taking you about an hour south all the way to Maenporth – a stunning horseshoe-shaped sandy bay, backed by cliffs and home to Michael Caines, beachside restaurant, The Cove.

We also love exploring the Helford, a great area that your dog will enjoy, protected from the elements, and home to the dog-friendly Ferry Boat Inn.

What Partridge says

What incredible sniffs at Pizza Jockeys, if only I was allowed some pizza!

Nevertheless it was a warm and comfortable, with fellow dog friends and treats aplenty. We visited after a long beach walk, and it was the perfect spot to rest
tired paws and dream of mozzarella and pepperoni.
