Atlantic Bar And Kitchen – Polzeath

Introduction

Atlantic Bar And Kitchen

The Atlantic Bar and Kitchen is a super dog-friendly beachside restaurant and bar has a laidback holiday vibe, with dreamy sea views, a contemporary style and a handful of tables out front. Sitting under the rattan lampshades, to a backdrop of inky blues, there’s something of a Mediterranean feel.

The standard of food is high, with everything sustainably sourced – the team at the Atlantic have mastered casual dining, with their small plates, pizza and pasta, there’s something for all taste buds – surfers, holiday-makers, locals, families and foodies too. Owned by Harbour Brewing, there’s plenty of merchandise to browse at the back of the restaurant, from branded caps and tees to craft beers to non-alcoholic aperitifs.

Dine with your dog

Dogs are welcome throughout Atlantic Bar and Kitchen with water bowls provided.

On the menu

Tuck into an Italian-inspired menu, serving striped-back dishes, using freshest Cornish ingredients. Staples include deliciously fresh Cornish scallop and rosemary spiedini with castelluccio lentils and salsa verdé and goats curd agnolotti with the sweetest datterini tomatoes, burnt almond and mint. A spot to hang out with a post-surf pint and pizza on the decking, enjoy small plates for lunch or a more refined pasta dish in the evening – the wonderfully plump-textured squid ink tagliarini with delicious Cornish crab, lemon butter sauce and the freshest samphire ticks all the boxes for the latter.

The menu also includes some new and exciting drinks; real ales, cider and a beer flight. There’s also local gins, cocktails and Harbour’s alcohol-free High Point Ruby – a Cornish fermented aperitif for the perfect cool wave of zest.

Where to walk

Overlooking Polzeath beach, your dog will enjoy a stretch across the sand, now dog-friendly all year round, with only a time restriction between 10am and 6pm from 15th May and 30th September.

We particularly love exploring Pentire Glaze, the Rumps, and Pentire Point, around Pentire Haven beach, and along the coastal path to the prettiest National Trust-owned restored orchard with its newly planted grass and seedlings. Here you will find plenty of picnic tables and benches, alongside some unique windchimes and sculptures. Just around the corner is the National Trust Pentire Café, offering drinks and light snacks – there’s courtyard seating and a beautifully converted barn provides indoor seating with a wood burner for chillier days. Climb the rugged cliff path to Carnweather Point, and enjoy sweeping coastal views, across to the Rumps and the Mouls – an offshore island that was visited during the first world war by poet, Laurence Binyon.

What Partridge says

Perfectly positioned next to a super fun sandy beach, with lots of exciting walking routes on the doorstep, The Atlantic Bar and Kitchen is a pawsome spot for a little rest during a day out exploring New Polzeath. I received plenty of fuss, tasty treats and a water bowl, whilst watching the waves and breathing in the Cornish sea air – what’s not to wag about?
