Pawfect for your canine pal too – a stone’s throw from one of our forever favourite spots – Mawgan Porth Beach – dog-friendly year-round, your pup will relish in morning beach walks and a salty splash.
Pampered pooches will also love the endless walks on the doorstep, with the South West Coast Path tracking right past the hotel. Dogs are welcomed in a selection of rooms with a dog blanket, towel and two feeding bowls, and you will also find an outdoor washing station for muddy paws.
Bedruthan Hotel is brilliantly positioned between the popular destination-towns of Newquay and Padstow, with myriad sandy beaches, backed by dunes and direct access to the South West Coast Path. Take the winding path down to the expansive bay and enjoy days spent on the north Cornish coast, taking in the extraordinary seascape, peppered with sandy coves, guarded by wave-battered rock stacks and jagged outcrops.
Your four-legged friends will love running free on the sands, along with a dip in the sea. Explore the undulating clifftops and awaken your senses with an exhilarating jaunt along this wild stretch of coast path to Bedruthan Steps with its dramatic sculptural rock formations.
Remember to always keep your dog safely on a leash along the more exposed sections of the clifftop walking routes.
Your fur friends are able to dine with you in The Wild Café and at Ogo where they can enjoy their own doggie menu. The Wild Café is a large, light-filled space boasting stunning views, a prime spot to enjoy breakfast and lunch, alongside an artisan bakery for freshly baked breads, pastries and sweet treats.
Whereas newest onsite restaurant, Ogo – translating to cave in Cornish – is a cosy, low-lit space with a focus on hyper-seasonal, provenance-led menus, inspired by the coastline’s natural bounty, and supplied by sustainable-growers, fishermen and farmers with a commitment to deliver quality ingredients – from foraged edible berries and seaweeds to the local daily catch. We tucked into delicious tasting menus, showcasing sustainably caught fish and farmed meat at hyper-seasonal Ogo, along with fresh, seasonal produce in the Wild Café, and flakiest pastries, sourdough sandwiches and sticky cinnamon buns from the bakery.
There’s an additional fee of £20 per night for your dog to stay too.
I was excited to stay at Bedruthan – an absolute fave spot on the north Cornish coast – he hotel caters for us four-legs from nose to tail! It was an incredibly friendly and comfortable space with lots of treats are provided in the rooms and some brilliant walks from the doorstep, which is also just a stone’s throw from one Cornwall’s best beaches – dog-friendly year-round Mawgan Porth. There are also doggie menus in both restaurants, now that’s definitely something to wag about!
