Two Bridges Hotel – Dartmoor

Introduction

Enjoy the magic of a Dartmoor hideaway, with your hound at your side. Two Bridges Hotel is situated in the midst of jaw-dropping countryside, providing historic charm and the finest seasonal fare.

Most of the bedrooms are dog friendly, where you will find a doggy gift pack on arrival, including a bowl, toys and tasty treats! Dogs are welcome in all the public areas, except the restaurant. The hotel is also home to beautiful gardens that your dog will love to explore.

Where to walk

Set in the heart of Dartmoor, with stunning scenery in every direction, the West Dart River right outside and the award-winning market town of Tavistock just a 20-minute drive away.

It’s a fantastic spot for dog walkers with the area surrounded by prehistoric antiquities, including Bronze-Age settlements, stone rows and an impressive 4,000 year old standing stone, known as the Beardown Man, situated to the North West. Nearby is also The Devonport Leat – a man-made water channel and the beautiful and unique Wistman’s Wood and the ancient Stannary Parliament at Crockern Tor, providing a fascinating five-mile walk from the hotel – a particular favourite route of ours.

Dine with your dog

There’s a no-dogs policy in the restaurant, but guests are welcome to dine with their dogs in the bar or lounge instead. Enjoy an award-winning menu, with local and seasonal Dartmoor ingredients at the heart. Beautifully presented plates, washed down with craft ales from the Dartmoor Brewery, including the famous ‘Jail Ale’.  The bar also boasts a great range of local gins, superb local organic soft drinks, along with Devon wines from Sharpham Vineyard.

For those wishing to dine out, there are plenty of great pubs and beer gardens to enjoy on Dartmoor. We can highly recommend The Rugglestone Inn, a traditional pub, serving hearty dishes made with seasonal ingredients, complete with wooden beams and a roaring fire – and in warmer months, a beer garden with the prettiest wisteria-clad backdrop. We also love the super dog-friendly Prince Hall Hotel for a cream tea, where your pal can roam free, and mingle with fellow four-legged friends.

What Partridge says

Two Bridges has to be my favourite Devon retreat to date, us four-legs are so pampered with a welcome goodie bag in our pawfect dog-friendly room. We can dine with our humans and play in the gardens before venturing out onto the moors, where we can walk for miles, with so many fantastic sniffs – such a pawsome Dartmoor hideaway!
